General Description |
Iron(1+), (.eta.5-2,4-cyclopentadien-1-yl)(1,2,3,4,5,6-.eta.)-(1-methylethyl)benzene-, hexafluorophosphate(1-) is a chemical compound containing iron in the +1 oxidation state. It is a complex with a cyclopentadienyl ligand and a hexafluorophosphate counterion. The cyclopentadienyl ligand is bonded to the iron atom through five carbon atoms, while the (1-methylethyl)benzene ligand is bonded through all six carbon atoms. The hexafluorophosphate ion carries a charge of -1 and balances the charge of the iron cation. Iron(1+), (.eta.5-2,4-cyclopentadien-1-yl)(1,2,3,4,5,6-.eta.)-(1-methylethyl)benzene-, hexafluorophosphate(1-) is commonly used in coordination chemistry and organometallic synthesis as a source of iron(1+) in various reactions and processes. |
